Ashbourne Summer Art Workshop in Hanoi
This summer Ashbourne is travelling to Hanoi, Vietnam, to host an exciting a five-day Art Workshop for students between 14 and 19 years old with a love of art. The workshop is part of the college’s outreach programme to find and support gifted students. The course is free but places are limited. Therefore, in order to ensure applicants are committed to attending the workshop we request a deposit of 1,000,000 VD to secure a place. This should be made in advance to our Admissions representative in Vietnam, Anh Nguyen.
Ashbourne’s Head of Art, and successful London artist, Lawrence Quigley, will offer students the chance to try out a variety of different art activities. There are a limited number of spaces for the workshop so that he can also provide personalised and individually-focused teaching.
During the week Lawrence will be incorporating some elements of theory to inspire the practical activities which will include external trips to Ninh Bình and Halong Bay to gather inspiration and materials for their work back at the studio.
Lawrence has a Masters in Fine Art from the distinguished Royal Academy of Art, London and has exhibited with a number of leading contemporary London galleries. He also has artwork in several private and public collections both in the UK and abroad. For the past 10 years Lawrence has successfully led our Art Department, playing an important role in our strong A level results and regularly placing students at top Art London Universities.
Ashbourne College is dedicated to helping students achieve their personal, academic and creative potential. This includes offering scholarships for talented students to study with us in London. During the Art Workshop the course leader will observe and assess students’ creativity, quality of work and personal attitude for potential scholarships to study at Ashbourne. We will also be awarding a Highly Commended trophy prize.
